Valley Center sets special meeting Nov. 24 for in-person city administrator interviews

Valley Center's city council approved a special meeting for Monday, Nov. 24 to conduct in-person interviews for the city administrator vacancy and go into executive session for the personnel interviews.

The search committee reported receipt of 22 applications and said it narrowed that pool to six for online interviews, then selected three finalists to invite for in-person interviews. The three candidates to be interviewed are Ethan Reimer, who serves as the city administrator for Halsted; Cyndra Cassens, City Administrator for Anthony; and Brian Silcott, the City Manager of Ottawa, Kansas. The committee said candidates will tour Valley Center developments and facilities prior to interviews so they can evaluate the community.

Committee members praised the nominees and the committee's work in narrowing applicants. Council did not take additional action beyond scheduling the special meeting and arranging for executive session for non-elected personnel matters.
