Clatsop County Planning Commission continues four dredged-material ordinances to Sept. 9

Clatsop County Planning Commission members voted Aug. 12 to continue four ordinances related to placement of dredged material disposal in the Columbia River Estuary to their Sept. 9 meeting.
Gail Henrikson, community development director for Clatsop County, told commissioners the applicant requested the continuance of the four cases. A motion to continue the items was made and seconded and approved by voice vote; the transcript does not record who moved or seconded the motion. Henrikson said the cases will return to the Planning Commission on Sept. 9.
David Cook, planning manager for the county's Community Development Department, gave the monthly project status report and said "this month is not tremendously different from last month." He told the commission that several large projects, including the dredged-material ordinances, were being postponed to future meetings and that updates to the county's comprehensive plan goals 16, 17 and 18 are scheduled for the Sept. 9 public hearing.
No members of the public registered to speak during the "business from the public" portion of the meeting, and no questions were raised during staff reports. The commission recorded the roll call (Chair Kraschauer was absent) and adopted the meeting agenda at the start of the session.
The commission adjourned after completing the brief business; the four continued ordinances and the comprehensive plan updates are scheduled to be heard again at the Sept. 9 Planning Commission meeting.
