The West Bend Common Council approved a cluster of land‑use and property actions on Nov. 10 that clear the way for future development in multiple areas.
Development staff Jim explained that Resolution 44 provides final approval to vacate Campus Drive (located about a half mile south of West Washington Street and west of South University Drive). The vacation began with an initial resolution in September and is intended to facilitate a future sale and redevelopment of the UWWC campus area. The council approved the final vacation by voice vote.
The council then approved Resolution 45 to accept a road dedication created by a certified survey map and to formally name the new 80‑foot wide right‑of‑way (including a 75‑foot cul‑de‑sac radius) Forge Place. Jim said the dedication supports future manufacturing‑center development in that area; the resolution carried by voice vote.
Resolution 46 authorizes the sale of city real estate to PKH Holdings LLC. Staff explained this resolution enables the mayor and clerk to sign the deed and authorizes the city administrator to sign ancillary sale documents required by the title company; the council approved the resolution by voice vote.
Finally, the council took final action on Ordinance 21 to permanently zone 159.07 acres at the northeast corner of South River Road and Sand Drive from temporary RS‑4 to RS‑4 single‑family residential with associated floodplain and wetland overlay districts. Jim said the acreage was annexed earlier in the year and permanent zoning establishes parameters for future subdivision development; no public comments were received and the ordinance was approved by voice vote.
All four measures passed on voice votes with no recorded opposition during the meeting. Next steps will follow standard administrative processing for deeds, survey maps and zoning ordinances identified in the adopted resolutions and ordinance.
