At its Oct. 27 meeting the Cloquet Public School District board approved a series of routine and new-business items by voice vote.
Outcomes recorded by the board clerk (roll call indicated seven members present) and reflected in the meeting’s voice votes: the board approved the meeting agenda and the Oct. 13, 2025 minutes; it approved claims for Oct. 10 and Oct. 21, 2025; and it approved the consent items.
In new business the board approved four distinct motions:
- English language learner coordination six-period stipend (approved by voice vote). The stipend was described in the meeting as approximately $4,000 per year and to be covered by restricted ELL funds.
- Memorandum of understanding with the Cloquet Principals Association to add Juneteenth as a paid holiday in principals’ contracts, consistent with state law from the 2023 legislative session (approved by voice vote).
- Agreement to provide targeted-services reporting for ISD 701 (Hibbing) under Cloquet’s ALC umbrella; Hibbing compensates Cloquet for backend MARS reporting (approved by voice vote).
- Waiver of high school auditorium and cafeteria fees for a community public health event organized in collaboration with Community Memorial Hospital (approved by voice vote).
Each motion passed with no recorded opposition during the meeting’s voice votes. The board scheduled upcoming meetings on Nov. 10 and Nov. 24 and adjourned the session.
Provenance: Motions and approvals are documented in the meeting transcript and the meeting’s roll call.
