The Clayton County Board of Commissioners voted Oct. 7 to approve Resolution 2025‑212, authorizing the Clayton County Water Authority to obtain a permanent sanitary sewer easement over county property for the Walden Park residential development.
Staff explained the sewer line was installed by the developer and that the resolution clarifies and broadens an earlier 2024 easement so the water authority can maintain the line. “The initial resolution done back in ’24 referenced giving a permanent easement for them to maintain the sewer line, but the new easement captures additional language they needed,” staff said. Commissioner questions confirmed the developer is responsible for construction costs; the resolution grants maintenance authority to the county water authority over the lifetime of the sewer.
The board approved the resolution by voice vote. No detailed fiscal impact for the county was presented at the meeting.
