BID readies facade grant applications, reports ornament purchases and riverwalk garland adjustments

On holiday decorations, staff confirmed the downtown tree lighting ceremony is scheduled for Thursday and crews have winterized lighting and installed new ornaments and bows. Staff said they spent about $1,600 for 120 new ornaments and ordered replacement bows to refurbish wreaths on Main Street; crews also re‑hung garland on the outside of bridges to improve long-range sightlines along the Riverwalk.
Other items: staff described an offer through the Connected Communities gold-level program to provide one façade design sketch (not a construction drawing) to an interested property owner; the board discussed vetting recipients to ensure financial capability to implement recommended improvements. Staff also said parks staff are reviewing logistics to move some flower pots to 6th Avenue and parts of Main Street in spring if feasible.
