Director reports: finances stable, programs and Libby usage up at West Fargo libraries

In the director’s report, Jenna told the board that finances are tracking well and that available appropriation through the end of the year is $583,284. "Finances, we are 78% expended through the year," she said.

Jenna walked the board through recent circulation and attendance numbers: the satellite recorded 816 physical circulations, 624 visitors and 16 new library cards in October; the main library reported more than 11,000 physical circulations and just under 6,000 visitors for the same month. She said electronic circulation through Libby set a record and that social media posts earned roughly 62,000 views in October.

Staff highlighted programming attendance — a new Next Chapters story time increased from eight to 11 attendees and a recent spooky "crafternoon" drew 52 participants — and noted increased use of the satellite’s public computers after patrons were encouraged to try the location during a carpet replacement at the main library.

Jenna said outreach services have grown (now circulating roughly 340 items on outreach stops) and praised staff for patron-focused selection and positive feedback on recent carpet replacement. Board members offered kudos to staff for the improvements and engagement.

The board asked no new questions and moved to adjourn after the director’s report.
