City staff to prepare transportation sales-tax ballot language for April 2026

City Administrator told the council that the city's sales tax renewal committee has completed its work and will send two letters to council; staff will bring ordinances and draft ballot language at the Dec. 1 council meeting for two separate issues, including a transportation sales tax the committee recommends placing on the April 2026 ballot.
“We would like to have those to the... Franklin County clerk's office by, I think, December 9,” the city administrator said, describing the county filing deadline and the goal to get the measures placed near the top of the ballot in town. Administrator staff also noted coordination about ballot order with county and other jurisdiction propositions.
Council members and staff discussed outreach and placement; the city administrator and staff said they will prepare the ballot language and ordinances and return to council in December for formal approval before filing with the county.
