Neil (S12) told the council two foundation-repair vendors inspected the site and recommended helical piers to lift and stabilize the sign, which had shifted about 2.5 inches. Neil said the recommended company warranties the work for 25 years and that the original sign company had followed the design and that the problem appears to be site settling rather than a fabrication defect.
Council member S4 moved to approve the IWP quote for $19,326.44 to repair the footings and stabilize the sign, S14 seconded, and the motion carried by voice vote. Neil said the cost will come from the Building Equipment Reserve.
