It preserves a minimum of 50 acres of agritourism open space to preserve historical ranching operations and allows alternative parking standards that permit field parking for up to 80 days per year during special events. Carey emphasized that the final handbook does not increase residential density, nonresidential floor area, building height, or reduce required open space from what the council approved in the tentative handbook.
Why it matters: The handbook records the zoning and development standards for the northern two‑thirds of the Andolan Ranch property and allows agritourism uses the code previously did not include, providing a regulatory path for the farm and event uses to continue.
