Council asks for developer detail before backing 194‑unit senior affordable project

Jackson also requested the developer’s pro forma and the identity of contractors and managers, saying the council needs enforceable guarantees that promised affordability and management standards will persist over time.
Councilman Velez and others asked that developers come before the council to present plans and show commitments after prior experiences in which support letters were followed by different outcomes. Economic development staff said the planning board approved an amendment to the scheme and that the city has previously provided a letter of support for an earlier 174‑unit plan; the director offered to supply the requested pro forma and additional financial details to the council.
What's next: The items were moved to the regular agenda for final consideration; council members requested that developers and project representatives present detailed financials, affordability bands and management plans before the council commits to letters of support.
