Board reviews fall enrollment snapshot and ongoing MTSS alignment work

Superintendent Dr. Michael Carey presented the district enrollment report dated Oct. 8, 2025, noting the packet excludes 15-day drops. He said the district is down one student in K–4 compared with last year, early fives dropped from 19 to 12, and the high school is down about six students. The largest change occurred at the middle school, which the superintendent attributed to cohort movement resulting from earlier COVID-year cohorts.
Dr. Carey also reiterated that district leadership is continuing MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) work to align systems across buildings, reduce site-by-site variation and streamline district-level committees. He said the work is intended to better use resources to maximize educational outcomes and that requests to change committee structures could come to the board in the future as the district refines its plans.
No policy or staffing decisions were made at the meeting; the enrollment figures were presented for board information and monitoring.
