Summary
After vetting six bidders across three scopes, the board accepted bids totaling $4,506,184 and added a 5% contingency for an estimated $4.7M; BL Dawson Roofing was recommended for high school and middle school and McPhillips Brothers Roofing for the primary school.
The board accepted contractor bids for roof replacement projects at the district’s primary, middle and high schools.
Director Robin reported six bidders submitted proposals for three separate projects and a single combo bid was received. BL Dawson Roofing was recommended to complete both the high-school and middle-school projects (the company said it has three crews to handle both), while McPhillips Brothers Roofing was recommended for the primary-school project. The combined base bids totaled $4,506,184; staff added a 5% contingency, bringing the project estimate to about $4.7 million, which Robin said is within the district’s planned $4.8–$5.0 million budget range.
Board members moved and approved the bid acceptance so staff can proceed with contract finalization and begin financing discussions.
