Miss Robinson told commissioners the initial annual contract is $174,500 with two one‑year renewal options for a total maximum of $523,500; funding is through the county general fund.
Public safety equipment: The board approved Resolution 2025‑252 to purchase six fire‑enforcer pumpers from the Clayton County Public Facilities Authority for $5,110,000 and authorized the chair or designee to execute required documents.
Traffic‑calming program: Commissioners adopted Ordinance 2025‑250 to establish a county traffic‑calming program. Staff described a petition‑based process in which neighborhoods that petition would work with transportation staff to propose calming measures. The ordinance as proposed includes two cost aspects: an annual maintenance fee (drafted at $50 per parcel) and a capital cost split proposed at 30% paid by the neighborhood and 70% by the county; staff said the fee schedule will return to the board for formal adoption and may be amended to match actual maintenance costs.
Appointments and boards: The board appointed Ramona Bivens to the Clayton County Public Facilities Authority and Tanisha Gayden to the MARTA Citizens Advisory Board by voice vote.
Zoning and land‑use items: In addition to the Highway 54 matter covered in a separate report, the board approved BOC 2508‑0546, a conditional‑use permit for Nuevos bilingual ministry at 7441 Tara Boulevard, subject to security and fire‑truck turn‑radius conditions. The board also approved a future‑land‑use and rezoning pair for a 5.25‑acre parcel at 5790 Highway 85 in Riverdale so an existing hotel becomes a conforming commercial use, and it approved a conditional‑use permit at Lake Spivey for an attached in‑law suite with conditions limiting multifamily rental and subdivision for rent.
Personnel and settlements: After an executive session on litigation and personnel, the board approved pay adjustments including an increase to a deputy chief assistant pay grade (reported cost $7,853) and a $7,500 salary increase for the Veterans Court coordinator Lakeisha Dixon. The board also authorized a settlement in a fatal‑accident matter for $700,000 to be paid from the general fund and instructed the CFO to amend the budget to reflect the payment. The board added an emergency resolution (2025‑253) to authorize holiday hours for the county landfill and approved it.
Corrections appointment and adjournment: The board appointed Deputy Warden Ray Amy as interim warden effective Nov. 8 with step and pay adjustments described in the personnel packet. The meeting adjourned at 9:55 p.m.
