Colonial School District honors Plymouth-White Marsh athletes for standout seasons

The Colonial School District board recognized championship seasons for Plymouth-White Marsh High School teams at its Nov. 20 meeting. Dr. Christian introduced presentations honoring the football team and the girls soccer program, praising student-athletes, coaches and families for their performances and community support.

Coach Nag, speaking for the football program, described a season of turnaround and resilience: “After the first four games, we were counted out,” he said, and credited the team’s daily improvements for a six-game winning streak, a district playoff berth and a fifth consecutive Suburban One American League championship. Nag said the program will move to the Continental Conference next year to face larger local schools and noted 15 all-league selections, including eight first-team picks.

TJ Delusion, PW girls soccer head coach, recounted a 14-3-1 regular season and a 9-1 league record that earned the program’s first league title since 2013. He noted the team allowed 10 goals in 18 regular-season games, recorded 12 shutouts, and advanced in the district playoffs before falling in a penalty-kick decision. Delusion also highlighted individual honors, including Nadia McGonkin’s first-team all-league recognition and the program-record number of players named to the all-division team.

Students and coaches were called forward to receive certificates of recognition. Board members congratulated the teams and highlighted the broader role of athletics in student development.

The meeting then moved into routine business and votes on district audits, budgets and contracts.
