Commissioners and staff said the proclamation is meant to both thank caregivers and highlight the need for ‘‘common sense solutions’’ such as services and supports that reduce the physical, financial and emotional burdens on those providing care. No formal policy or funding change accompanied the proclamation; it was presented as a recognition and statement of support.
The proclamation presentation was followed by routine business on the commission’s agenda.
