The City Council took time at the start of its Dec. 3 meeting for ceremonial recognitions.
Mayor Pro Tem Knudson introduced Dr. Ma as Citizen of the Month, citing his work with UNLV's dental programs, leadership on a cleft palate clinic and community service including animal trapping and spay/neuter efforts. Dr. Ma described his academic background and asked residents to refer people with developmental disabilities who need oral health care to the new clinic.
Councilwoman Frances Allen Polanski proclaimed Dec. 3, 2025 as Max Crosby Foundation Day in Las Vegas and invited the foundation's board to the dais. Bert Tremblay, executive director, described recent work including Thanksgiving meal distributions to nearly 400 families and a Dec. 23 partnership for holiday gift distribution; Abiria Aram, senior director of community relations for the Las Vegas Raiders, offered remarks of support. No council action was required for ceremonial proclamations.
