City planning staff briefed the Public Properties Committee and the full council on a proposed lease extension with T‑Mobile Northeast LLC for an existing communications tower located at Warwick Fire Station on Cohasset Road.
Tom Kravitz, City Planning Director, said the lease currently runs through 2029 and that this site is one of the city's top revenue producers, generating roughly $5,064 per month with a 3% annual escalator. The administration requested the council endorse the extension to prevent T‑Mobile from needing to search for a new location, a process Kravitz warned could take years and risk service disruption.
Committee members and councilors asked routine questions about timing and terms; no public opposition was raised. The item received favorable committee recommendation and was approved on the floor with recorded votes in committee and subsequent roll call confirmation in the full council.
