Dan Zeller, jail major at the Geary County Sheriff's Department, presented the biweekly law‑enforcement and jail report for Oct. 22–Nov. 4. He said the average daily population in the jail was 109 and that deputies conducted 203 traffic stops and made 32 arrests during the period.
Zeller listed operational metrics: 21 total accidents, 40 assists to outside agencies, one battery/assault case (one account on it), zero burglaries and zero motor-vehicle‑theft incidents recorded in the period, 47 citations, 169 civil papers served, six domestic incidents and two drug investigations. On the jail side, the facility processed 15 transports and handled one shots‑fired call that included a recorded death call.
Zeller told commissioners he would provide annual cumulative totals after Jan. 1 so the board could see broader workload metrics. Commissioners thanked Zeller and his staff for their work and asked him to pass on appreciation to the sheriff and command staff.
