Unidentified Speaker 10 told the group the county is completing end-of-year financial reviews, preparing W-2s and 1099s, and handling pay-rate benefit changes. He said the county will hold a budget-amendment hearing at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 8, to create or amend a budget line for a community corrections reimbursement fund after state guidance required the money to be pulled out of an existing account.
"The state made them pull that money out, and the state wouldn't give guidance on whether to budget that or not," Speaker 10 said, explaining staff chose to create a budget against the unexpected additional revenue. He emphasized there will be no changes to ad valorem taxes.
The hearing was announced as a scheduled procedural step; no formal action or vote on the amendment occurred during this meeting. Staff were also told to review end-of-year financial entries and to be prepared to make reclassifications before the close of the year.
