Staff said the application requested $75,000 and would be an 18‑month project to begin early next year and conclude in mid‑2027.
Christina (caller) and Anne (caller) voiced support for the project and emphasized public participation and potential community benefits, including an opportunity to craft community-benefit conditions for solar development. A motion to sign the letter of support was made, seconded and approved by voice vote without recorded opposition.
Staff said the grants will be awarded within 60 to 90 days of the application deadline and the county will proceed to coordinate consultant and in‑house resources if the grant is awarded.
