The consulting firm Transpar updated the Cumberland School Committee on Nov. 13 about progress on a transportation and redistricting study.
Mr. McGrath, representing Transpar, said the team completed route-yield interviews with drivers during the week of Oct. 27 and delivered a large spreadsheet of collected data covering policies and walking distances. He said phase 1, focused on inter-district efficiencies, is expected early in 2026 and later phases will follow based on the consulting phases.
Doctor Thornton introduced the presenter and offered to answer committee questions; no substantive vote or direction was recorded on the matter at the Nov. 13 meeting. Committee members did not raise additional follow-up questions during the presentation.
The update positions the district to consider routing efficiencies and future choices that may be recommended in subsequent phases.
