CEA president tells board association seeks restored report slot and urges good-faith bargaining

Drew Rosa, president of the Centennial Education Association, used the public comment period to ask the board to restore a regular agenda slot for CEA reports so educators and classified staff can share on-the-ground perspectives.
"At this time, I still have not received a response from the board regarding the CEA's request to restore our regular position to give Board reports," Rosa said, urging greater inclusion so the board hears directly from classroom staff rather than primarily from administrators.
Rosa also updated the board on contract negotiations, saying the district and association have reached tentative agreements on several articles and that this week's bargaining session was more productive, but that many issues remain after the thirteenth session. He criticized what he described as a legal approach from the district side that limits meaningful dialogue and said the CEA would continue providing updates during public comment until the board replies to the request.
The board did not take action during the public comment period; Rosa said the intent of his remarks was to ask for inclusion and to press for continued negotiations to reach a fair contract.
