County honors Sharon Glover on retirement; board proclaims World AIDS Day and encourages testing

Later in the meeting the board presented a proclamation declaring Dec. 1, 2025, World AIDS Day in Cumberland County. The proclamation noted national statistics and called for prevention, testing and treatment. Dr. Green accepted the proclamation on behalf of the HIV Task Force and encouraged testing: "It is World AIDS Day ... go get tested today," Dr. Green said, and announced that the HIV Task Force would be conducting free testing on the campus of Fayetteville State University and that county and partner health providers offer testing regularly.
