FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — County commissioners on Nov. 17 approved separate requests from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office to replace aging duty handguns and to purchase an armored critical-incident vehicle.
Sheriff Morgan’s training staff reported that the department’s Glock 21 Gen4 pistols — purchased around 2014 — have reached the recommended 10-year service life and many have nonfunctional night sights.
