John presented the Plan Commission’s meeting dates for 2026 and said most sessions remain on the first Tuesday of each month but that two dates will be on Wednesdays because of elections.
“We moved it up to April 1,” John said, explaining that keeping the April meeting on the usual Tuesday would fall on an election day and that moving it to Wednesday avoids conflicts with central count procedures. He also noted that Nov. 4, 2026 is scheduled as a Wednesday for similar reasons.
Commissioners discussed logistical concerns, including whether central count would have wrapped up the day after the election and whether the meeting room would be available. Staff were asked to distribute the calendar as electronic appointments so commissioners can click to accept. The commission reiterated that a quorum requires five members and that members may call into meetings if necessary.
John also noted he will not attend the December meeting for personal reasons and said Jim will preside in his absence. The commission adjourned at the end of the session.
