The Plan Commission of the City of West Bend on Nov. 18 approved a certified survey map that splits a city- and county-owned parcel at 400 South University Drive into two lots and one outlot for future sale and redevelopment. The commission approved the map by voice vote after a presentation and a brief staff explanation.
“So tonight we're asking for approval for the certified survey map,” said Jim, who summarized the proposal and the map's intent. Jim said Lot 1 includes the main building of the former university, Lot 2 is an open space east of University Drive, and Outlot 1 will retain park amenities and the main driveway giving access into the park. He also noted the map identifies a water tower, an associated water line and related access easements.
Jim told commissioners there are "a couple of minor technical revisions that need to be done prior to recording," and recommended approval subject to those corrections and the Common Council’s acceptance of the utilities and easements.
A motion to approve the certified survey map was made and seconded; the chair called for the vote, members responded "Aye," and the motion carried. The commission’s approval was conditional: staff must complete the listed technical corrections before the CSM is recorded and the Common Council must formally accept the utilities and easements the survey documents.
Votes at a glance: the minutes from the Nov. 4 meeting were approved earlier in the same session; the certified survey map for 400 South University Drive was approved on a voice vote with the conditions described above.
Next steps: staff will implement the technical corrections identified by the commission, prepare the finalized CSM for recording, and refer the utilities/easements for Common Council acceptance before the map is filed.
