Broken Arrow swears in six new youth city council members

The City Council swore in six students to the Broken Arrow Youth City Council, a program the city described as providing civic engagement and leadership experience for local high-school students.
Laurie Hill introduced the program’s history and objectives, recognized co-sponsors Vice Mayor Johnny Parks and Councilor Justin Green, and introduced co-coordinator Michael Godfriend. Hill named six newly appointed sophomores — Lindsey Cunningham, Alexis Foster, Kenley Lang, Reid Macon, Clara Nance and Pranav Reddy — and led the introductions before the oath was administered.
An oath was read and each student affirmed the duties of service to the Broken Arrow Youth City Council. Council sponsors spoke briefly to welcome the students and urged them to participate in meetings and community initiatives. The council congratulated the students and took photos following the swearing-in.
