The City Council adopted a proclamation declaring October 2025 as Manufacturing Month in Broken Arrow and recognized the role of the local manufacturing sector in the city’s economy.
Amber Miller presented a slideshow and told the council that Broken Arrow is home to "over 300 manufacturers" across aerospace, energy and advanced manufacturing and that the sector supports "more than 11,000 jobs," which she said represents about 11% of the local economy. Miller highlighted local firms — including Zico, CSI Aerospace and Solar Turbines — as examples of ongoing investment and job retention.
Mayor Deborah Wimpey formally read and signed the proclamation on behalf of the council, calling out manufacturing’s contributions to jobs, training partnerships with educational institutions and its importance to the city’s growth. The proclamation also encourages local outreach such as plant open houses and career education to promote manufacturing careers to students and job seekers.
Council members thanked staff and praised the city’s manufacturers; Amber Miller asked the council to continue supporting initiatives that link industry and education. The proclamation was adopted and will be published with the city’s official records.
