Middleton renews school resource officer contract with Middleton School District for 2025–2026

The Middleton City Council voted on Oct. 15 to approve the School Resource Officer (SRO) contract with the Middleton School District for the 2025–2026 school year. Staff said the contract is unchanged from the prior year except for the updated dates and that the school board had approved it earlier in the week.
Council members asked a few timing questions but raised no substantive objections; the motion to approve the contract passed by voice vote.
City staff noted that if a contract is not signed before school starts the city had continued to provide and pay for SRO services in the past, and the current contract preserves service continuity for the coming school year.
