Board approves second reading of GDFA policy tightening support-staff fingerprint clearance language

The Glendale Elementary District Board of Education approved the second reading of policy GDFA (support staff qualifications and requirements) after Superintendent Tagata Jones presented the updated language on fingerprint clearance card requirements for support staff.
"This is just the language for IPP fingerprint clearance card requirements," Tagata Jones said in opening remarks before the board moved and seconded approval. The board recorded 'Aye' votes from Board Members Jaramillo, Wilson and Bartels and Board President Martinez and the policy was adopted on second reading.
Administration also noted upcoming agenda items including ASBA bylaw changes and preparations for the board self-evaluation with an October 30 deadline. The board confirmed the rescheduled study session on October 23.
The action was procedural and the policy will be implemented through standard personnel and human-resources procedures; the district did not provide detailed implementation timing during the meeting.
