Bloom urges DCG families to back $88 million bond, highlights high school expansion and inclusive playgrounds

Bloom, an unidentified speaker, urged Dallas Center-Grimes Comm School District families on Friday to vote in the Tuesday, November 4 election, highlighting an $88,000,000 school bond on the ballot.

The bond, Bloom said, would fund districtwide improvements that she described as long-term investments. "I'm really excited about this $88,000,000 bond," she said, and added that "This bond is gonna touch every 1 of our buildings and have an impact on every 1 of our students."

Bloom said the package would expand the high school and broaden programming. "We're so excited to expand our high school, expand our programming," she said, adding that "Safety security is at the forefront and we're gonna do some really neat things there for our staff and kids in our buildings."

She also cited plans for new inclusive playgrounds, saying, "we're gonna add some inclusive playgrounds because all of our kids deserve the same access to a fun environment outside." Bloom thanked families and staff for their support and questions, encouraged participation in the election, and closed the message with "Go Mustangs."

There were no formal motions or votes recorded in the message; it was an informational appeal for voter participation and support of the bond measure.
