Mobile addiction‑treatment units to serve Lawrence County, Anchor Addiction officials tell Ironton council

They said the service is strictly outpatient — not housing — and that the units will operate on a scheduled, temporary basis at designated locations before leaving at the end of each day.
Thacker cited a Centers for Disease Control figure in saying there were 27 reported overdose deaths in Lawrence County in 2024. The presenters said the program is grant funded through State of Ohio sources and Governor Mike DeWine’s office and that Anchor Addiction will bill private and public insurers where applicable; for uninsured patients, grant dollars will cover services. They emphasized they were not asking the county for funding, water or electric hookups and described coordination with local agencies, law enforcement and health department staff.
Council members did not take formal action during the presentation. The exchange was informational; presenters said they had met with the mayor, Lawrence County commissioners and other local health and service providers prior to the council meeting.
