She described a procurement contract that would purchase EMS equipment from vendor 'Steiker' including 11 power-load units for $364,334.85, 45 stair chairs for $319,007.45, and seven LUCAS devices for $181,231.27 — a combined total of $865,273.57 to support the Office of Emergency Services, EMS division. Hager also noted a $1,500 grant for disaster risk management training awarded to the cooperative extension from North Carolina A&T State University.
Finally, Hager presented the county’s annual encumbrance rollover (budget ordinance amendment 26 39) to carry forward outstanding commitments into the new fiscal year, increasing multiple funds by $14,100,000 to reflect prior-year commitments that remain in process. The board heard the consent items and indicated they would move forward with these matters to the regular session for formal action.
No final votes on the consent items were recorded during the Dec. 1 work session; staff said some items will appear at future regular meetings for formal approval.
