A representative who identified themself as the president of the Millbrook Civic Association (Valley Stream) told the board that a new developer is constructing much larger houses in the community, in some cases increasing homes from about 1,100–1,200 square feet to roughly 3,000 square feet.

The speaker said the change is removing greenery and replacing yards with pavers and concrete, raising concerns about surface runoff, drainage, flooding risk, and reduced parking for residents and teachers near schools. The speaker said the association had a petition with nearly 200 signatures and offered photos of the work for the board to review.

The board thanked the commenter and said the commissioner of buildings would be available to discuss the concerns after the meeting.
