Tunnel to Towers seeks fee waiver for veteran housing demolition permit at Austin Boulevard site

Jennifer Porter of CSG Law spoke to the board on behalf of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation about a planned veteran housing development at 3915 Austin Boulevard.

Porter said the project received zoning-board approval just over a month earlier and that the organization is preparing for an anticipated county closing in November. She said the group's demolition-permit application was submitted at the end of last week and requested "potential consideration of a waiver of fees in connection with the permitting" to speed the permitting and demolition timeline.

The board thanked Porter for the foundation's work with veterans and said it would work with Tunnel to Towers to avoid "unnecessary burdens or fees." No formal vote on a waiver was recorded in the segments captured here.

Next steps: Staff indicated they would follow up to coordinate permitting and any fee waivers with the foundation and county timelines.
