The chair put a motion to the board that "active subs on the active list have access" and it was seconded; the motion passed on a voice vote. Board members asked staff to compile counts showing how many substitutes work a given number of days per month to inform a written policy. The board did not set a fixed minimum number of days at the meeting.
The vote aligns rec-board access rules with the board's stated desire to support reliable substitutes as an employee-recruiting tool; the board also acknowledged the policy will need a clear written definition to avoid inconsistent application.
