North Clackamas recognizes Lisa Baker as NCEA educator of the month

The North Clackamas School District and the North Clackamas Education Association recognized school psychologist Lisa Baker as NCEA’s educator of the month at the Oct. 9 board meeting.
An NCEA representative praised Baker’s collaboration with learning specialists and described her impact on special programs. Baker, who introduced herself at the meeting, said that being assigned full time to a single middle school after previously covering multiple buildings had been "absolutely game changing" for her practice and for her ability to support students and staff. "I consider my role to be kind of like a harmony or a countermelody," she said, describing how her work is often most visible when it is missing.
Board members thanked Baker and noted they were glad the district had identified funding to keep specialists in single buildings where possible. No formal board action was taken; the recognition was presented as part of the meeting’s consent and highlights.
