Keizer planning commission swears in commissioners, keeps leadership and welcomes youth liaison

The Keizer Planning Commission opened its meeting with the ceremonial swearing‑in of returning and newly appointed commissioners; the oath of office was administered by City Attorney Lindsay.
The commission then handled internal business: nominations for chair and vice chair were opened and, with no objections, the existing chair said he would remain in that role and Commissioner Grama was designated vice chair by consensus.
Chair and commissioners welcomed Talia, the planning commission youth liaison and a senior at McNary High School. Talia said she joined to ‘‘give back’’ and learn how city planning works, a role commissioners highlighted as an opportunity to connect young people to local government.
The commission next approved the September minutes (one abstention recorded from Commissioner Scruggs) and moved on to a public hearing and staff reports. The meeting adjourned at 7:24 p.m.
