Summerville council approves annexations, conveyances and Shoemaker Tract amendment

Summerville’s Town Council approved several land-use and property items during its Oct. 9 meeting, including petitions and ordinances for annexation, conveyances and a development-agreement amendment.
A petition by Old Trolley Road LLC to annex 1905 Old Trolley Road (TMS 1610802008, ~1.29 acres) and zone it UCMX (urban corridor mixed use) was presented with a planning commission recommendation for approval; council approved the annexation. Council also completed second and final reading of an ordinance to annex four Dorchester County parcels (totaling roughly 31.8 acres) and rezone them to multifamily residential (MFR) following annexation; that ordinance passed by voice vote.
The council approved second and final reading of an ordinance to convey a 10-foot strip of town-owned property condemned in Town v. Smiley & Son Development LLC (case no. 2025 CP1800018), and separately approved conveyance of a 0.1-acre portion of South Pine Street to Tiffany Wilson (the latter vote included a councilmember recusal).
The council also approved an amendment to the Shoemaker Tract Development Agreement by and between Lennar Carolinas LLC and the town for approximately 276.8 acres commonly known as Limehouse Farms, allowing residential and commercial uses under the development plan.
Each of these items passed on the motions and votes recorded in the meeting minutes; where necessary the planning commission had already held public hearings and provided recommendations to council.
