Beaumont council approves uniform contract and Tyler software PO; unveils CIP interactive map

Beaumont City Council on Oct. 7 approved two procurement items and received a demonstration of a new Capital Improvement Projects interactive GIS map intended to improve public access to project status and cost information.
Uniform contract: Staff asked the council to approve a three‑year Workplace Solutions Cooperative Acceptance Agreement with Cintas to provide uniform rental and laundry services as required by the employee MOU. Public Works staff explained the cooperative procurement path and recommended council approval. Mayor Pro Tem Voigt moved to approve the recommendation; the motion passed by roll call with a unanimous yes of attending council members.
Tyler Technologies purchase order: Staff presented a purchase order request for Tyler Technologies—Beaumont’s enterprise resource planning vendor—asking authorization for modules across finance, payroll, permitting and utility billing and to add an Easy Pay online payment module. Staff said that the purchase order consolidates licensing and includes an enhancement previously approved during the budget process (Tyler Assist Basic) and asked the council to authorize a PO not to exceed $280,000. Council approved the request on roll call.
CIP interactive GIS map demo: Public Works staff, including Theo Morrow, demonstrated the new CIP interactive map available on the city website (Public Works → CIP tab). The map displays project status tabs (all, completed, future, in design, under construction), and within each project shows type, total cost, status, brief description and an estimated closeout date. Staff acknowledged GIS analyst Bradley Barnhart and public works intern Ashton Buer for their work and said the map will be iteratively improved.
Votes at a glance: The council approved the consent calendar (G1–G9) by roll call; the Cintas cooperative agreement and the Tyler PO were each approved on unanimous roll calls of those present.
Why it matters: The Cintas agreement continues a city service under the employee MOU; the Tyler PO consolidates enterprise modules and adds an Easy Pay option to allow online utility payments; the CIP map increases transparency for residents and helps council and staff field project questions more efficiently.
