County staff outline comprehensive plan outreach, medevac enrollment and capital projects progress

County staff reported roughly 150 responses to an online comprehensive-plan survey, scheduled a Benchmark meeting with the planning commission for Dec. 15, said a medevac payroll-deduction enrollment agreement will be reviewed by staff and the county attorney, and updated the council on capital projects including Denison Beach, John's Hill Community Center, a coroner's facility, Veterans Park and Cottageville.
County staff provided a detailed administrative briefing on the comprehensive plan, employee medevac enrollment and capital-project updates.
Thomas (county staff) said the comprehensive-plan outreach has generated about "150 responses" so far via an online survey and QR code; the consultant Benchmark is scheduled to meet with the planning commission on Dec. 15 and requested time with a council committee to review draft materials. Thomas said the survey remains open and that Benchmark will use responses to produce an initial summary.
Thomas also reported the county received a late enrollment agreement from an air-med evacuation insurer that would offer employees payroll-deduct enrollment. He said the county attorney and staff will review the agreement before any enrollment or presentation to employees.
On capital projects funded through the sales tax, Thomas said Denison Beach is near closeout, staff met stakeholders for the John's Hill Community Center and are working on pricing and internal procurement for the coroner's facility, Veterans Park and Cottageville projects; stakeholder committees and kickoff meetings are being scheduled.
No formal decisions were recorded; staff asked council members to consider meeting with Benchmark and to expect further materials as planning and procurement progress.
