Tivoli board outlines Winterfest plans, reminds residents about snow-permit rules and recycling schedule

Presiding Officer (Speaker 1) said Winterfest will take place on Dec. 6, with Santa arriving on a fire truck about 2 p.m., a children's craft event at the library around 3 p.m., a tree-lighting at dusk with community chorus performances, a bonfire, food (hot dogs and vegetarian chili), and horse-and-wagon rides in the village between 5 and 7 p.m. Trustees asked for a poster and online announcements to publicize the schedule.
Clerk Pindell noted the village’s personal-care-closet has an abundance of supplies and encouraged better outreach so residents in need can find it; the clerk also noted a Toys for Tots collection box in Village Hall. Members discussed recycling pickup confusion and planned to repost the recycling calendar on the Tivoli website and Facebook group to remind residents of alternating pickup weeks.
Board members reminded residents that the snow ordinance is now in effect: overnight street parking requires a village permit (reported as $35) to avoid a $45 ticket. The justice court summary for the month ending Oct. 31 reported $640 in fines and $261 in surcharges for a total of $901. The police report for October showed 16 incidents, five uniform traffic tickets and no arrests.
The board closed by debating agenda order and procedural practices to improve public comment opportunities on reports and then moved to adjourn.
