The Lakewood City Council unanimously approved its consent agenda on Nov. 24, approving items that included an intent to acquire property for construction of storm and sanitary sewer facilities, prospective extension of sewer service to the Bend At Lakewood Metropolitan District, a development agreement and park/open-space plan for the Bend At Lakewood Urban Renewal Area, and an emergency lease agreement with Volunteers of America for property at 8000 W. Colfax Avenue.
City staff read the consent items into the record. The items listed in the clerk’s readout were: item 5a (declaring intent to acquire interest in property east of Wadsworth Boulevard along West Colfax Avenue to Dover Street for storm and sanitary sewer construction); item 5b (accept application to extend sewer utility service to properties within the Bend At Lakewood metro district); item 5c (authorize a development agreement for the Bend At Lakewood Urban Renewal Area at 11061 West 2nd Place and approve the park and open space plan); and item 5d (an emergency ordinance authorizing execution of a lease agreement for property at 8000 West Colfax Avenue by and between the City of Lakewood and Volunteers of America). The consent package also included multiple sets of meeting minutes and first-reading ordinances for publication.
A motion to approve the consent agenda was made and seconded and the council voted to approve it 11 yes, 0 no. Meeting minutes recorded that this was the only voting item that evening. The council did not take separate votes on the individual consent items during this meeting; they were approved as a package.
