St. Mary Parish board recognizes students and teachers across district schools

At its Oct. 9 meeting the St. Mary Parish School Board recognized Students and Employees of the Month from Bayou Vista, WP Foster and Patterson Junior High, honoring academic achievement and long service.
The St. Mary Parish School Board opened its Oct. 9 meeting by recognizing Students and Employees of the Month from multiple campuses.
Bayou Vista Elementary honored Student of the Month Amari Dugos and teacher Bridgette Mabile for leadership and long service. WP Foster recognized fifth-grader Larry Smith Jr. and teacher Patrice Matthews for more than 20 years of teaching. Patterson Junior High Principal Lauren Rentrop presented Seth House and John Finch as students of the month and named Tracy Stelli teacher of the month and teacher of the year.
The recognitions included brief remarks about honorees’ classroom leadership, extracurricular interests and community involvement. Families and colleagues joined the honorees for photographs after the presentations.
