Perkiomen Valley to pilot two social-studies resources in January–March before recommending purchase

Miss Harenko reported that a curriculum review of European and global studies considered several resources (including McGraw Hill, TCI and Savvas). Using criteria such as standards alignment, student engagement opportunities and support for diverse learners, the committee recommended running comparative pilots of TCI and Savvas beginning in January and concluding in March, after which staff will make a purchase recommendation for the 2026 cycle.
Harenko said the pilots will give classroom evidence of how each resource supports tenth- and eleventh-grade European and global studies and will inform final selection based on classroom fit, qualitative feedback and standards alignment. District staff and teachers will evaluate the pilots and report back to the committee for any purchase request to the board.
