At the Nov. 18 meeting commissioners approved administrative actions including authorizing the county clerk to sign termination letters for group insurance plans (Aetna, Health Equity, Blue Cross/Blue Shield and COBRA services) effective Jan. 1, 2026. The board also approved a letter of support and designated Francis Deters to sign the Kansas DOT 5311 public-transportation grant application on behalf of county public transportation.
Separately, commissioners directed staff to submit credit-card statements from May 2024 through the present to consultants BT and Co. so those charges can be coded, reviewed for public purpose, and reconciled in CIC; the motion carried by voice vote.
The actions were framed as administrative housekeeping to align insurance coverage for 2026, support public-transit operating assistance, and remediate billing/coding anomalies identified in accounts payable.
