Rochester Hills honors three departing council members with proclamations

Mayor Brian K. Barnett and the Rochester Hills City Council presented proclamations at the Nov. 10 meeting honoring three council members leaving office this month.
The council recognized President Ryan J. Diehl for his service as council president and for leadership on city projects including Innovation Hills and Nowicki Park. Mayor Barnett told Diehl, “You lead with your heart,” and thanked him for “faithfully serving the city of Rochester Hills.”
Councilwoman Carol Moreland was praised for youth engagement, senior enrichment initiatives and work on Pine Trace Golf Course transformation; Councilman David Walker was cited for long-standing civic involvement with the Chamber, Rotary and parade activities and for stewardship of parks and financial management. Department directors and staff from economic development, public services and finance offered remarks and presented plaques on behalf of the city.
The presentations included short remarks from members of the administration and staff who thanked the departing council members for their time and support for city programs. The recognitions concluded before the council moved on to the evening’s agenda items.
