Representative Lynch warns Medicaid cuts could complicate Norwood Hospital plans

Lynch urged continued work to support Norwood Hospital, saying he and state officials have met repeatedly with the governor and the state HHS secretary and that a state task force on the hospital is meeting regularly. He also noted local civic milestones, including recent nominations of Norwood students to U.S. service academies.
The representative framed the Medicaid and health-care subsidy changes as a central financial pressure that could worsen the town’s fiscal and service challenges. "So when you see that that funding is gonna be cut... it puts us at risk," he said.
The meeting did not include a formal local action tied to the federal items Lynch discussed; his remarks were delivered as an informational update prior to the evening's municipal business.
The moderator thanked Representative Lynch at the close of his remarks and moved the agenda into the town’s consent and warrant items.
