Osage County adopts proclamations for National 4‑H Week and Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Commissioners heard a presentation from Jo Hendrick Ansett, 4‑H development program manager for Osage County (Frontier District), who said the county has roughly 135 youth participating in 4‑H and asked that the commission proclaim Oct. 5–11, 2025 as National 4‑H Week. An ambassador described public‑speaking and agricultural projects and commissioners signed the requested proclamation.
Separately, a representative from a local advocacy organization described services the group provides — including hotline calls, short‑term shelter, bilingual advocates, transportation and assistance with protection‑order paperwork — and asked the commission to adopt a domestic‑violence awareness proclamation. The commission read and adopted a proclamation declaring October 2025 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Osage County and agreed to retain a copy for the county and provide another to the organization.
Both proclamations were signed at the meeting and will be retained by the county and the presenting organizations.
